About the project
Technopolis’s campus at Helsinki Airport was expanded with 5,300 sq.m. of offices and parking for 272 cars. The addition was completed at the same time as the new Ring Rail Line to the airport. Fira was both main contractor and in charge of the technical engineering of the build.
In addition to acting as main contractor, Fira also represented the building users and rented 1.5 floors of the building for itself. Fira’s new facilities enable flexible and efficient collaborative work. At the core, there is a wide, open space whose moveable partitions and furniture make it adaptable for various uses. The space is divided into different zones, from group tasks to silent work, and employees are free to find the place that is best suited to their current task.
The facilities even boast some uncommon solutions, including a conference room furnished as a sauna, swings, exercise balls and a treadmill. The facilities were planned and built in cooperation with the employees and the result is representative of the Fira culture.
