About the project
Fira carried out the modernisation of the former Tekes building in Pasila, Helsinki, into offices for the insurance company Fennia. At a prime location, the building underwent extensive renovation and was fitted with solutions supporting Fennia’s organisational culture.
The exterior and interior renovation reflected both the urban surroundings of Länsi-Pasila and the demands based on Fennia’s operational culture. The usual horizontal rows of windows characteristic of office buildings were offset by vertical facade elements of glass in the new building.
“Together with Fira, we were looking to find functional solutions based on our corporate culture. The cooperation was an excellent opportunity to refurbish an old office building and adapt it to our needs. The extensive modernisation we carried out with Fira resulted in state-of-the-art offices suited for contemporary modes of work in a dynamic part of the city.”
– Timo Rantala, Head of Real Estate Investments, Fennia Group
The modernisation of the building included opening up corridors lined with offices to form multifunctional spaces especially adapted for digital work. The renovations started in spring 2016 and Fennia will move in the new offices in April 2017.
