The first phase of the Innopoli 4 project includes the construction of office spaces covering a floor area of more than 7,000 m2.
The first phase has been designed by Antti-Matti Siikala of SARC Architects. Siikala is known for his work on the New Children’s Hospital. The main contractor is Fira Oy.
The eight-storey building will also come to house parking spaces for 208 cars and 150 bicycles.
In terms of Fira, the construction work at Tekniikantie 21 will be completed in May 2020. The work began in December 2018.
“Fira’s cooperation with Technopolis goes back a long way. The current project will only strengthen this cooperation. We’re particularly happy about our mutually confidential relationship,” says Topi Laine, CEO of Fira Oy.
The project is the sixth on which Fira and Technopolis have cooperated. Previously, Fira served as the main contractor at Technopolis’ sites in Ruoholahti, Helsinki, and Aviapolis, in Vantaa, for example.
“Otaniemi is developing fairly rapidly at the moment. The kick-off of the Innopoli 4 project is one of the area’s major development initiatives, which increases the area’s attractiveness even further,” says Jari Heinonen, Head of Property Development at Technopolis Plc.
